Oklahoma City firefighters helped bathe elephants from the Carson & Barnes Circus. Firefighters were asked to take part in the elephant bathing sessions on Saturday in the parking lot of Plaza Mayor, 7000 Crossroads Blvd.
“Our fire department tries to take advantage of opportunities like this to get out and socialize with our community,” fire department spokesman Benny Fulkerson said.
“All too often, our interaction with those we serve is during crisis situations. It’s a nice change for us to get to spend some time with our residents in a fun setting such as this.”

Firefighters from Oklahoma City fire station No. 16 participated in the washing of three elephants Saturday in the parking lot of Plaza Mayor.
